We are committed to fostering a professional and inclusive
environment at all times. We expect all participants to adhere to the
principles outlined below:
-
Scientific and Ethical Integrity: We prioritise scientific rigour
and ethical conduct in all aspects of our work. We encourage open and
honest communication, adherence to best practices, and the highest
standards of research integrity.
-
Respectful Conduct: We promote a culture of respect and
inclusivity. We value and embrace the diversity of our community and are
committed to treating all individuals with dignity and respect. We
reject discrimination or harassment based on gender, gender identity and
expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearances,
race, religion (or lack thereof), or beliefs.
-
Considerate Behaviour: We expect all participants to engage in
considerate and professional behaviour in their speech and actions. This
includes being mindful of the impact of our words and actions on others,
actively listening, and fostering an environment that encourages
collaboration and mutual respect.
-
Zero Tolerance for Harassment: We have a zero-tolerance policy
for any form of demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour or
speech. Such behaviour includes, but is not limited to, verbal or
written abuse, intimidation, unwanted advances, offensive jokes, or
derogatory comments. We encourage individuals who experience or witness
such behaviour to report it promptly.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the code of conduct
or wish to report an incident, please contact James Wason at james.wason@newcastle.ac.uk.
